## Abstract Longitudinal and transverse giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effects in micropatterned ribbons (Metglas^ยฎ^ 2714A) with meander structure are investigated. The maximum longitudinal GMI ratio of the ribbons is 180.4% and it presents to __H__~L~ = 10 Oe and an AC frequency __f__ = 20 MHz. In t

## Abstract A model for the enhanced giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect in fieldโ€annealed Coโ€based ribbon with a meander structure is developed. Three different kinds of ribbon are fabricated by a MEMS method and the field dependence of the GMI effect is measured at 10โ€‰MHz. Good agreement between
