Eingegangen am 8. Dezember 1975 2H-Cyclopenta~klfluoren (3b) wird in zwei Schritten durch Addition von Dehydrobenzol an 1-Diazoinden und Pyrolyse des gebildeten Spiroindazols 4 gewonnen. Die Photolyse von 4 in Tetrahydrofuran fuhrt dagegen zu Dimeren des 3-Phenylindenyls (z. B. 7) und zu dern stabilen N-Ylid 8. Ausgehend von 3b wird 9b-Methyl-9bH-cyclopentaCjklfluoren (12) dargestellt. Methoxycarbonyl-substituierte 2H-Cyclopenta~k]fluorene (15a -c) werden in hoher Ausbeute aus den Pyrazoleninen 13 oder den Cyclopropenen 14 erhalten. Die Umlagerung 14b + 15b verlauft regiospezifisch. Die Rontgenstrukturanalyse von 3b zeigt, daO die dem Molekul innewohnende Spannung zu starken Abweichungen der Bindungslangen und -winkel gegenuber ungespannten Verbindungen bei insgesamt planarer Struktur fuhrt. Die UV-Spektren von 3b und 12 werden diskutiert. Die pK-Werte der Verbindungen 3b und 15b werden angegeben. Hydrierung, Methylierung und weitere Reaktionen von 3b werden beschrieben. Synthesis and Structure of 2H-CyclopentaUklfluorene 2H-Cyclopentabklfluorene (3b) is prepared in two steps by addition of benzyne to 1-diazoindene and pyrolysis of the resulting spiroindazole 4. Conversely the photolysis of 4 in tetrahydrofuran leads to dimers of 3-phenylindenyl (e. g. 7) and to the stable N-ylide 8. The synthesis of 9b-methyl-9bH-cyclopentabk]fluorene (12) starting from 3b is described. Methoxycarbonyl-substituted 2H-cyclopenta~k]fluorenes (15a-c) are obtained in high yield from the pyrazolines 13 and the cyclopropenes 14, respectively. The rearrangement 14b -t 15b proceeds in a regiospecific manner.
An X-ray structure analysis of 3b shows that the strain of the molecule causes strong deviations of the bond lengths and the bond angles relative to corresponding unstrained compounds, leaving the planarity of the molecule unaffected. The u. v. spectra of the hydrocarbons 3b and 12 are discussed. The pK-values of 3b and 15b are determined. Hydrogenation, methylation, and further reactions of 3b are described.
