France & US: Eliokem -styrene butadiene resins

Eliokem was established in 2001, when Goodyear hived off its speciality chemicals operations in France, the US and China. The Pliolite styrene butadiene (SBR) resins business was included in these operations. Eliokem recently declared its commitment to raising capacity for Pliolite-S5 resins at its Le Havre (France) and Akron, Ohio (US) plants. Pliolite-S5 resins are mainly used for clear and pigmented masonry and concrete coatings, known as crépis. They are also used for electrographic toners, marine paints, and road-marking paints.

Germany: Clariant -masterbatch

Clariant Masterbatches has installed new facilities for extrusion and blowmoulding at its Lahnstein plant. The company notes that this will make it more efficient to produce samples for European designers to evaluate options in new colour and special effect pigments.
