## Abstract Values of __J__(5aโ5e) for indolizidine and related systems show that, contrary to results described in an earlier communication, these couplings do not differ markedly from the corresponding geminal coupling constant in quinolizidine.

By a series of nuclear magnetic double-resonance experiments it is shown t-hat the geminaL H-H and H-C ccupling constants of group IV hydrides are increasing from C to Pb in accordance with a -qualitative argument on the basis of molecular orbital theory.
GUTOWSKY, Karplus and Grant' have found that the spin-spin coupling constant between methylene protons depended on the H-C-H bond angle of the methylene group and also suggested that some other factors 1
