✦ Synopsis

Dichloroethylene (DCE), either czs or trans, was reacted with 0 3 at 23Β°C in both NZ and 0 2 buffered mixtures. Both reactant consumption and product formation were monitored by infrared spectroscopy and, in some cases, 0 3 consumption was monitored by ultraviolet absorption. For thoroughly dried mixtures, the initial products were only HCClO and Oz, but geometrical isomerization also occurred. The stoichiometry of the overall reaction always was

The photolysis of SOz at 3712 A in the presence of the 1,2-dichloroethylenes has been investigated at 22Β°C. The data are consistent with the SOz( 3B1) photosensitized isomerization of the 1,2-dichloroethylene isomer. A kinetic treatment of the initial quantum yield data was consistent with the forma

## Abstract The reactions of the biogenic organic compounds isoprene and 2‐methyl‐3‐buten‐2‐ol (MBO) with ozone have been investigated under controlled conditions for pressure (atmospheric pressure) and temperature (293 Β± 2 K), using FTIR spectrometry. CO was added to scavenge hydroxyl radical form

Ozonolysis of C,H, was carried out at 295 K in 730 torr synthetic air in the concentration ranges of 10310 = I 9-8.2 ppm and [C2H41(, = 4 0-15.0 ppm, in the absence and presence of the added HCOOH [Ipprn), CH,COOH (1-10 pprn), and CH,OH (36-100 ppm]. In the absence of the added compounds, a nearly c
