β¦ Synopsis
The diastereoisomeric mixtures of a series of unsubstituted and substituted perhyclrodipyrido[~,z-c; 2',1'-eJimidazoles (I), perhydropyrido[r,z-cJpyrrolo[z,r-e]imidazoles (II) and perhydrodipyrido[I,z-c; z'r'-fJpyrimidines (III), have been separated by preparative gas-liquid chromatography. Correlations have been made between the retention times and stereochemistry of the isomers in each mixture. *All the compounds discussed in this paper exist as racemates or in certain case optically inactive fo+m& **See Fig. z for the various configurations and prcfcrrcd conformations of these ,compounds. . .1.*1

## Abstract Some bridgehead nitrogen compounds possessing the CH(Me)βbridgehead Nο£ΏC(O) system have been synthesised and their configurations assigned. The chemical shifts of the proton geminal to the methyl group provides evidence for the existence of a deformed chair conformation for the methyl su
We describe the effect of a modified gas chromatography-atomic emission detection (GC-AED) instrumental setup on the analysis of organometallic compounds. It is shown that the installment of an additional makeup gas flow positively effects the performance of the Hewlett Packard (HP) atomic emission
