β¦ Synopsis
The absorption rates of CO, and of 1, I-dimethoxyethane vapour into spherical liquid films in which they undergo fir&-order chemical reactiona have been measured. The difhion equation aeeuming an irreversible &t-order reaction haa been solved. The eolution has been used to calculate valuea of eZ +/D and the reaction velocity constant from the experimental absorption ratea. Good agreement with independent kinetic meaaurem enta of the velocity constant was obtained. The method may be used for the measurem ent of the kinetics of fast resctions.
