โฆ Synopsis
GaAs is described by its developers as the material of the future, and by its sceptics as staying that way. However, GaAs ICs are finding their way from military, specialist and specific applications into the arena of the mass market. The chicken and egg syndrome is being overcome, the mass markets are providing the impetus and the resulting volumes bringing down units costs, which is the only disadvantage GaAs has compared with silicon.
