✦ Synopsis

Rise in number of teleworkers

Spikes Cavell & Co., IT market analysts, have identified a continued rise in the percentage of 'teleworkers' in the UK economy. Using a trend analysis tool, Quest 4, they found that one in eight UK companies already allow employees to work from home. BT claims that there are more than 2.5 million people working from home on a full or part-time basis in the UK. This figure is expected to rise to four million within the next year. Spikes Caveil's findings reveal that the UK Government is conducting surveys into teleworking to reduce urban traffic congestion. BT is currently developing a virtual reality project aimed at making people working at home feel more closely connected with their offices.
