Two types of recently developed portable fuel cell systems are described: one with dc output and one with ac output. These systems consist of a small fuel cell stack, two hydrogen cylinders, and a power converter. They are completely contained in one cabinet that can be separated into two sections,

โฆ Synopsis
Thin-film electrocatalyst for unitized regenerative PEMFCs
Thin-film electrocatalyst layers with varying PTFE and Nafion contents for unitized regenerative PEM fuel cells (URFCs) made using the paste method were examined as URFC electrodes. Adding Ir catalyst to the oxygen electrode layer significantly improved performance. Catalyst loadings can be reduced to <1/3 using this method. T. Ioroi, K. Yasuda, Z. Siroma, N. Fujiwara and Y. Fuel processors to produce hydrogen from conventional and alternative fuels are being developed for use in fuel cell power generators. The design of these fuel processors hinges on many factors that include the temperature and pressure required for the conversion, the type and level of by-product th
Enbridge has ordered FCE's 1.2 MW DFC power plant to ensure product integration is complete in time to meet the needs in emerging markets in Ontario, in Connecticut and other states. The hybrid power plant is expected to be available during the third quarter of 2007.
There is growing interest in the replacement of batteries by fuel cells for portable consumer electronics such as cellular phones, laptop computers, digital cameras etc. At first sight, comparisons with batteries based on performance and convenience are encouraging. However, the cost and safety aspe
