✦ Synopsis

The vibration-rotation spectra of the (\nu_{12}\left(A_{2}^{\prime \prime}\right), \nu_{12}+\nu_{14}\left(E^{\prime}\right)), and (\nu_{12}+\nu_{14}-\nu_{14}\left(E^{\prime} \otimes E^{\prime \prime}\right)) bands for 1,3,5-triazine have been measured with an FTIR spectrometer, with the spectral resolution being about (0.002 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}). A set of accurate molecular constants has been determined for the ground state, and the excited states (v_{12}=1) and (v_{12}=v_{14}=1). No accidental perturbation has been detected at the present level of accuracy. The (\nu_{12}+\nu_{14}-\nu_{14}) band is found to have a pronounced PAPE structure. From a suitable combination of lines of (\nu_{12}+\nu_{14}) and (\nu_{12}+\nu_{14}-) (\nu_{14}), more than 1400 transitions of the IR-inactive (\nu_{14}\left(E^{\prime \prime}\right)) have been obtained. The molecular constants of the state (v_{14}=1) have been determined, with the standard deviation being about 2.6 (\times 10^{-4} \mathrm{~cm}^{-1} .61995) Academic Press. Inc.
