## Abstract An anisotropic magnetic thin film is considered with atomic spins, __S__, arranged in a lattice with inversion symmetry and arbitrary surface orientation. The Hamiltonian of the system contains the Zeeman term, the Heisenberg exchange term, and a term for the uniaxial volume anisotropy
Thin films of pure superconducting metals and alloys can be used as rapid response bolometers over a wide temperature range if a small magnetic field is applied. The characteristics of various films are discussed together with a brief consideration of methods of use.
