✦ Synopsis
We study a simple one-dimensional model of ballistically-controlled annihilation in which the two annihilating species are initially spatially separated. The time dependent properties of the annihilation front are exactly derived. It is shown that the front wanders in a brownian fashion around its average value.

A phenomenological theory of low-mobility liquid hydrocarbons is developed which includes electron ballistic motion in the quasi-free state, in competition with diffusion and trapping. For most low-mobility liquids the theory predicts consistently the effective mobility and activation energy, in agr
The dependence of the strangeness production on the number of nucleons involved in the annihilation process is investigated experimentally in pp and p4 He annihilation at rest. In He, annihilations with the involvement of one and several nucleons (B = 0 and B 1 baryonic number, respectively) are ide
The quasi-ballistic model of transport, recently introduced by the author (Chem. Phys. Letters 207 (1993) 245), has been applied to eleven hydrocarbon liquids in which the electron mobility is less than 10 cm 2 V-~ s-1. In all cases except benzene a combination of a trap density ~ 1019 cm-3 and a qu
