## Abstract The new generic name __Martynovocossus__ nom. nov. (Hemiptera, Palaeontinidae) is proposed as a replacement name for the preoccupied and junior homonym __Pseudocossus__ Martynov, 1931, non __Pseudocossus__ Kenrick, 1914, non __Pseudocossus__ Gaede, 1933. The new genus group is redefined
