## Abstract Kinetic equations for the decay of the free radicals in polymeric solids are given for the following assumptions on which they are based: (1) two simultaneous firstβorder but physically separated decay reactions; (2) two simultaneous noninteracting secondβorder decay reactions; (3) comb

β¦ Synopsis
The power-law time dependence of luminescence decay in solids is interpreted in terms of kinetic equations in which the rate constant is governed by the efficiency with which the reactants explore a discrete lattice. It is shown that the bimolecular reaction gives the best description for a substantial number of cases, but the power-law exponent does not have a universal value.

X-ray excited luminescence, photoluminescence decay and thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) measurements have been performed on a selected set of PbWO 4 single crystals. At room temperature the X-ray excited emission spectrum is characterized by two components peaking at about 2.5 and 3.1 eV. Th
Luminescenoz measurements after laser pulse excitation are reported for the dye malachite green in solutions of different viscosity with a time resolution of 10 ps.
