✦ Synopsis

Fluorescence excited by UV lines of the Irrypton-ion laser has been recorded by high-resolution Fourier-transform spectrometry in the region 10000-3500 cm (l)'iQ and (3)'Zi. -t _ Pre1imina.y values of the constants for three new electronic states. (2)'X> and for several levels of excited 'SG states are given.

The use for the first time of a hgh-resolution Fourier transform spectrometer to analyse the laser-induced fluorescence from a ring dye laser allows observation of vibrational levels of the 'Liz molecule close to the ground-state dissociation limit. This extends the known potential curve from 5.18 -

Natural polymers, humic acid and lignins, were investigated by laser desorption (LD) Fourier transform mass spectrometry. In the vapor phase under LD conditions only positive ions of humic acid were observed up to m/z 700. Under the same conditions all the lignins investigated prefer to form negativ
