✦ Synopsis
The emission spectrum of (\mathrm{HfO}) has been investigated in the (400 \mathrm{~nm}) to (5 \mu \mathrm{m}) spectral region with a Fourier transform spectrometer. The bands were excited in a hafnium hollow cathode lamp in the presence of neon and a trace of oxygen. In the (6900-8000 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}) region, four new sequences of bands were observed with the (0-0 Q) heads at (7060 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}, 7355.4 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}, 7376.8 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}), and (7929.5 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}). These bands have been identified as the ({ }^{3} \Pi_{0^{+}}{ }^{3} \Delta_{1},{ }^{3} \Pi_{0^{-}}{ }^{3} \Delta_{1},{ }^{3} \Pi_{1}{ }^{3} \Delta_{2}) and ({ }^{3} \mathrm{II}{2}-{ }^{3} \Delta{3}) subbands of the (b^{3} \Pi-a^{3} \Delta) transition. The rotational analysis of the (0-0) and (1-1) bands of each subband has been performed and the equilibrium rotational constants for each spin component of the (b^{3} \Pi I) and (a^{3} \Delta) states have been obtained. The emission spectrum of BN has been investigated in the 1800-9000 cm 01 region using a Fourier transform spectrometer. BN was formed in a microwave discharge of He with a trace of BCl 3 and N 2 . The bands observed in the 3000-7800 cm 01 interval have been assigned as the b 1 P-a 1 S / transition,
The high-resolution spectrum of ZrCl has been investigated in emission in the region 3000-10 000 cm 01 using a Fourier transform spectrometer. The bands were excited in a microwave discharge through a flowing mixture of ZrCl 4 and helium. New ZrCl bands observed in the interval 3600-4400 cm 01 have
