A new facile method---aminolysis of calix[4]arene esters to obtain lower rim double-l,2-amide-bridged calix[4]arenes is described. We also report fl~e single crystal structure of compound 3 which forms a long chain supramolecule in the solid state via intermolecular hydrogen bonding.
