โฆ Synopsis
It has been conf'Lnned in the case of aromatic hydrocarbon,DMA(N,N-dimethytaniline) systems that the ion radical formation occurs mainly from the non-relaxed CT (charge transfer) system before the reLaxed exciplex state is formed. Absolute quantum yields of ion radical formation in acetonitrile have been measured for the above systems, which are ca 50-30%.
