Experiments have been carried out for heat transfer with liquid helium under conditions of forced circulation of the liquid through rectangular channels of width 1"0 cm and thicknesses 1"0, 0"6, and 0.3 mm. The channels had a fixed length of 50 cm. The circulation of liquid helium causes a very larg

โฆ Synopsis
The paper presents experimental data on transient heat transfer in forced flow two-phase helium in a narrow vertical channel. Two principal mechanisms of heat transfer deterioration have been found. The first is due to increasing pressure reaching supercritical values. The second is the crisis when the liquid microlayer near the channel wall is evaporating completely. The influence of flow rate, quality and initial heating upon heat transfer and crisis have been studied and are discussed.
