โœฆ Synopsis

Many fluorescence immunoassays have indifferent limits of detection because of the background signals from biological samples. Scattered light contributes to this background, but can be eliminated by exciting conventional fluorescent labels via chemiluminescence reactions involving bi.s(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)oxalate.

This reaction, whose rate can be controlled, is conveniently used in a flow injection system with a luminometer as a detector. Such a system is applied to study fluorescein-and fluorescamine-labelled species at concentrations as low as lo-" M (ca. 0.5 pg in a 100 ~1 sample). The effects of antibodies on the luminescence signals from labelled antigens are discussed.

An novel analytical method consisting of flow-injection sampling and chemiluminescence (CL) detection for determination of anticancer drug hydroxycamptothecinum (HCPT) is described. It is based on the CL reaction of potassium permanganate-formaldehyde-HCPT system. The formaldehyde-sensitized CL emis

The emission produced by sulfite on oxidation by permanganate in acidic solution in the presence of riboflavin phosphate or brilliant sulfaflavine is used to determine 0.9-35 ng of sulfite. Only sulfide and thiosulfate also give emissions.

The main purpose of this study was to develop an inexpensive, simple, rapid and sensitive chemiluminescence (CL) method for the determination of glutamine (Gln) using a flow-injection (FI) system. Gln was found to strongly inhibit the CL signal of the luminol-H 2 O 2 -CuSO 4 system in Na 2 B 4 O 7 s
