1)ouble straiided 1:NA fr(JI1i CPV and I1DV have beeii stitdied by the flow-dichrciism technique. The flow orientation and dichroic apectra have shown that the inolerrilar chain is flexible and has bases tilted slightly against the helix axis. It has: been shown alho that the waveleiigth dependency is similar to that of DNA, which strongly suggests the existence of an n -T* trarisitioii of bases around the 230 mi region.
