Two approaches are presented for the analysis of laser action in periodic structures. The first one uses the coupled-wave formalism to analyze guided-wave propagation in a periodic waveguide defined by the coupling coefJicient and the conditions at the cavity ends. The second analysis is based on th

โฆ Synopsis
In this study, a simple physical model for liquid pool spreading with vaporization is solved semi-analytically for the first time using the mathematical method of perturbation techniques. The evaporation rate per unit area is used as the perturbation parameter, and firstorder solutions are obtained for continuous and instantaneous releases.
