The upper critical field of untwinned YBa,Cu,O,\_, crystals is determined from the onset of diamagnetism in dc-magnetization measurements. There is no evidence of anisotropy in the upper critical field in the basal plane indicating that the ordering of oxygen into chains plays only a minor role in
