✦ Synopsis

The measurements of temperature and field dependences of the susceptibility for GdBa2Cu3OT_6 single crystals (ci>~ 0.6, tetragonal phase) are used to construct the H-T phase diagram containing the spin-flop (SF) phase at the field orientation along the easy axis. A sequence of AFM-SF, SF-FM phase transitions is described by using the spin-Hamiltonian within the model of twosublattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet (AFM) with the anisotropic exchange. The exchange parameter in the (ab) plane as well as the intra-and inter-sublattice anisotropy constants are determined.

We aimed to find the correlation between the structure of YBCO single crystals with their high Jc values (-105 A/cm2 at 77 K, zero magnetic field). The most remarkable feature which belongs to high-Jc crystals was found to be the presence of spirals on their surface. Detailed examination of the ion-
