✦ Synopsis

A fiber radio link based on direct optical injection subharmonic locking of a GaAs MMIC oscillator at 10.6 GHz is experimentally demonstrated. Microwa¨e output power of 7.6 dBm is reported. The oscillator can be locked using up to the 32nd subharmonic o¨er a 200 kHz locking range. The achie¨ed linewidth allowed transmission of a signal modulated down to 500 Hz through the link.
