Application of a Fast X-Ray Diffraction Method to Studies of High Temperature Corrosion of Iron. (Conference Paper). New experimental possibilities using X-ray diffraction were applied for studying the high temperature oxidation of iron. The measuring system consists of an X-ray diffractometer combined with a high temperature device with a programmable temperature controller.
Using fast detectors series of > 300 pattemslday were measured in isothermal and non-isothermal experiments in air at ambient pressure. Energy dispersive Xray diffraction was applied to studies of the whole oxide layer, Wereas angle dispersive measurements were used for FeoOl layers < WOK.
