me fast V-V step describing near resonant energy transfer 'Up the fadder" of the C-F 'stretching vibration in C&F has been measured. The activation rate of the 2~3 vibratioti level has been determined to be 1200 ms-' torr-' corresponding to 7 @ kinetic collisions. Comparison is made to other di-and trktomic molecules in which this fast V-V step has been previously measured and the general behaviour of near resonant "up the Iadder" vibrational enezg transfer is discussed.
