✦ Synopsis

The mass spectrometric behaviour of a series of new derivatives of Foscarnet was studied with fast-atom bombardment and collision-induced dissociation experiments in positive-and negative-ion modes. For the compounds esterified with a 2-(S-pivaloyl)thioethyl [tert-butyl)SATE] group a rearrangement of the thioester linkage with expulsion of 60 u dominates the fragmentation pattern.

The mass spectrometric behaviour of seven 1,3a,5-trisubstituted 3a -oxadiazolo[4,5-a][1,5]benzodiazepines has been studied with the aid of mass-analyzed ion kinetic energy spectrometry and exact mass measurements using fast-atom bombardment ionization. All compounds show a tendency to eliminate a ne
