โœฆ Synopsis

Fe(CO),R'CH=CR2COR3 Compounds

A major theme of contemporary chemistry is the development of new synthetic routes using organometallic compounds.' Recent work in this department has involved the investigation of the synthetic utility of compounds, 1, comprising an a$unsaturated carbonyl compound attached to the iron tricar-bony1 moiety.

Positive-ion fast atom bombardment mass spectra and linked-scan tandem mass spectra were measured for aromatic iodonium salts. The mass spectra usually contain the intact cation of the iodonium salt as the base peak, fragment ions of lower abundance resulting from simple cleavages or rearrangements,

The positive-ion fast atom bombardment (FAB) mass spectra of stibonium salts have been studied. The spectra exhibit an abundant intact cation ( C ' ) and fragment ions resulting from the loss of R, R' or stable neutral species from the cation. The principal fragment ions in the FAB mass spectra of s
