β¦ Synopsis
Recewed 11 March X980, m f%naI rbrm 25 July I981 Subxxnlhsnetre absorption measurements are reported for SL,, phenohc Sfanxuch bases m the regton 20-90 czS1 at room temperature. Thri?e drstmct absorphon peaks are obsened around 45,65 and 85 cm-l for aIi these compounds. Based on the present data and dxeiectrzc loss studres the ongxn of the observed FIR absorphon peaks is d&cussed.

The results of new measuremems of the far-infrared optical constant OF hquld waler out 10 4 cm-' a~ 293 K are presented. The+= together with previously published submillimetre wavelength measuremen&. are analysed to show that it is possible to lip the continuous far-infrared-tcrmicrowave absorption
The far IIt spectra (6: I.00 cm-l) of gaseous N2C from 34 to 64 bars are reported. The absorpttoa due to the (small) permanent dipole is +cdmpahied by contributions due to dipole-and quadrupoleinduced momenta, the latter being the larger. An acceptable value,' Q(N20) x 8 x 10-26 esu is estimated fro
