✦ Synopsis

This report concerns a family in which papillary thyroid carcinoma appeared in the father and two daughters and follicular adenoma in a granddaughter. The father died of systemic metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma. The two daughters and glanddaughter felt well postoperatively. We speculate that some gene-related factors might play an important role in familial occurrence of papillary thyroid carcinoma and follicular thyroid adenoma in the family.
