## Abstract A variety of novel highly functionalized tetrahydropyridine derivatives is synthesized via multicomponent reactions of arylsulfonylbutanoates (I) with aromatic aldehydes and ammonium acetate and transformed into corresponding aromatics upon dehydrogenation with DDQ.
