## Abstract The reactive 1โ€‰:โ€‰1 zwitterionic intermediates generated __in situ__ from the reaction between a series of isocyanides and diaroylacetylenes were trapped by pyridine carbaldehydes to yield highly functionalized 5โ€pyridylfuranโ€2โ€amines in good yields (82โ€“93%).
