✦ Synopsis

We report on our progress in the fabrication and characterization of high-To thin films prepared on the in-house grown single crystal LaGaO3 and LaAIO3 substrates. Y-Ba-Cu-O and Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O films were deposited using a chemical-spray technique and a dc-magnetron-sputtering process, followed by an ex-situ high temperature annealing. In the case of LaAIO3 substrates, both fabrication methods resulted in highly oriented films, characterized by very good superconducting properties. On the LaGaO3 suhstrates we succeeded tn fabricating only Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconducting films.

We report in-situ preparation of thin films of the high-Tc-superconductors YBaZCu307\_5 and TmBazCu307\_5 by d.c.-magnetron sputtering. The films were deposited on single-crystalline SrTi0 3 , NdA1Ca04 and LaGa03 substrates held at temperatures between 720°C and 750°C. The applied method proved to b

## Abstract Thin films of samarium‐oxide‐doped (20 mol%) ceria (SDC) are grown by pulsed‐laser deposition (PLD) on (001) MgO single‐crystal substrates. SrTiO~3~ (STO) prepared by PLD is used as a buffer layer on the MgO substrates to enable epitaxial growth of the fluorite‐structured SDC film; the
