Abstract
This paper describes the design, fabrication, and measurement of a modified spiral‐patch antenna with a shorting pin. The prototype consists of a modified spiral model and was made using the shorting‐pin method. The prototype of the proposed antenna was designed to achieve triple‐band operation at the 2.4‐ and 5‐GHz bands. To obtain a sufficient bandwidth, a foam layer was inserted between the ground plane and the substrate. This is a microstrip antenna for IEEE 802.11a/b WLAN application. The simulated and measured results for the impedance bandwidth, radiation pattern, and gain are presented and discussed herein. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract This paper investigates the characteristics of the modified meander‐line‐type patch antenna for the 5‐GHz band. Its design was based on a modified meander line width and shorting pin with coaxial feeding. Its maximum measured impedance bandwidth (−10 dB and below) reaches approximately
A rectangular ring is introduced in an open-ended planar monopole antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) in order to achieve broadband dual-frequency operation. Prototypes of the proposed antenna designed for WLAN operation in the 2.4-and 5.2-GHz bands are constructed and tested. The maximum meas
## Abstract A high‐isolation two‐antenna structure comprising two small‐size uniplanar WLAN antennas and a dual‐band strip resonator embedded in‐between for laptop computer application is presented. The proposed design occupies a small planar size of 9 × 50 mm^2^ when mounted above the top edge of
