โœฆ Synopsis

Results are reported from moderated nuclear recoil lSF experiments with the CH*/C~FG/ CzFs mixture system. At a 99.5% confidence level measurement precision of f3.4%, nonthermal F-to-HF reactions are phenomenologically suppressed a t CzFB moderator concentrations in the range of 95.0-99.95 mol-%. Effectively equilibrium reaction conditions can be established in well-designed experiments of this type.

Results are reported from moderated nuclear recoil I8F experiments with the 273 K CHF:+/C:,F~/CZF~ system. Although the measurement sensitivity is only about f12%, there is no evidence to support the occurrence of nonthermal F-to-HF reactions at 95 mol % CzFe moderator concentration.

We present a kinetic study of atomic potassium in its electronic ground state, K(4'SI 21, generated in the "single-shot mode" by pulsed irradiation at elevated temperatures and monitored by time-resolved atomic resonance absorption spectroscopy using the Rydberg doublet at A = 404 nm (K[5'PJ] +K[42S
