โฆ Synopsis
The growth of vapour bubbles at a prepared nucleation site in uniformly superheated liquids has been observed.
With acetic acid, the bubble growth follows the asymptotic theory:
(radius) a (time)"*.
However for water and solutions of glycerol in water, the exponent was in the range 0.75 to 1 .O.
It is suggested that the discrepancy is due to the translatory motion of the bubbles as they grow.

The equations governing spherically symmetric phase growth in an infinite medium are first formulated for the general case and are then simplified to describe growth controlled by the transport of heat and matter. All assumptions and restrictions are recounted. Exact solutions of the equations are o
