✦ Synopsis

The polarization labeling spectroscopy technique is used to study the 6 1 P X 1 R þ and 7 1 P X 1 R þ band systems of the NaK molecule located in the UV range. For both excited states accurate molecular constants are derived which describe the 6 1 P state to 68% and the 7 1 P state to 71% of their potential well depths. The parameters deduced from the experiment are compared with the recent theoretical calculations.

The polarization labeling spectroscopy technique is used to study excited singlet ungerade states of K 2 in the energy range 26 400-30 200 cm 01 above the bottom of the ground state potential. Three states, 4-6 1 P u , are characterized by sets of Dunham coefficients. The 6 1 S / u state with an unu
