The excitation function up to 30 MeV was remeasured by the activation method for the production of 186 Re via the 186 W(p,n) reaction. The available experimental data were analyzed, corrected and compared with the calculated results of the ALICE-IPPE, GNASH and EMPIRE theoretical model codes. The ex
