Abstract
A novel triβband, multifingered antenna is proposed. With the integration of the electromagnetic bandgap as an impedanceβmatching element, a wider impedance bandwidth response is obtained. The proposed antenna is also noted to be smaller in size, as compared to the conventional microstripfed triβband antenna. Β© 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## CONCLUSION A PMMAαGIαPOF 2.5 Gbitrs transmission system with a record distance of 200 m has been reached, doubling the distance previously reported. The performances are mostly attributed to the spectral purity of the laser source, the use of a silicon APD receiver, and improved light-coupling
structures with more than one port, including active elements, and to realize an extremely simple yet efficient combination of an oscillator integrated within an antenna. It has been proven that the design frequency could be attained without any tuning, by directly using the structure dimensions res
