โฆ Synopsis
This paper reports on an ongoing investigation into the applicability of parallel systems in the processing of financial information. For the past five years a wide spectrum of issues has been investigated; this paper attempts to draw together this work as a coherent whole, and discusses past, present and planned activity. A number of case studies applying parallel systems to typical financial applications are described and, where appropriate, results presented. The commonality between the case studies is also discussed.
'OLTP tends to involve short queries or updates, involving highly selective, random lookups of just a few records; MIS queries tend to be data-intensive and may involve scanning of more than one database table [3].

## Abstract An improved 2D sequence for the simplification of COSY spectra is described and demonstrated. It is based on the 3D HOHAHA๏ฃฟCOSY experiment, makes use of shaped selective pulses and takes advantage of simultaneous excitation and correspondingly more efficient data accumulation schemes. T
The development of a measurement system to visualize, classify (based on topological features) and quantify complex flows in wind tunnel experiments is described. The basic idea is to extract topological features directly instead of postprocessing large sets of raw data (as generated by conventional
