โฆ Synopsis
Multi Stage Flash plants have been introduced into Libya since 1976. Over the period up to 1988 the installed capacity has grown to approximately 300,000 cu.m per day. Of this figure only 2/3 is operable. The availability of the plants is low representing less than 66 days/year.
The most important problems are maintenance and unavailability of the skilled personnel.

Severe corrosion problems are encountered in desalination plants, related facilities and power stations, which cause safety problems and high costs through shutdown and replacement of equipment. Preventing corrosion will increase the availability and reliability of the plants. Experience on corrosi
In many areas the increase in the demand for fresh water calls for a parallel growth in electric power supplies. Cogeneration plants with gas turbines have found many applications both in industrial and domestic fields. These plants make use of a simple waste heat boiler which recovers heat from a t
