In many areas the increase in the demand for fresh water calls for a parallel growth in electric power supplies. Cogeneration plants with gas turbines have found many applications both in industrial and domestic fields. These plants make use of a simple waste heat boiler which recovers heat from a turbine exhaust. A dual-purpose plant based on gas turbines for combined production of electricity and fresh water is the most advantageous answer to such needs. This type of "total energy" system ensures maximum efficiency and consequently great fuel savings.
