✦ Synopsis

The dipolar split lines in the ESR spectra of some TCNQ salts are investigated. It is shown that the electronelectron correlation does not estend appreciably beyond a unit cell along the TCNQ chain. it is suggested that the &polar split lines are due to excitons formed from electrons and holes in P band system. The fact, that the activation energy of these wcitons is in some cases double that of rhc ekctrons and holes, strongly points in this direction.
