Over 540 doubly excited Li / resonances below the Li 2/ N Å 2 and N Å 3 thresholds are studied with the complex-rotation method. The resonance energy, autoionization width, relativistic correction to the energy, and mass polarization are tabulated for each state. The doubly excited states are groupe

✦ Synopsis
The potential curves of some excited electronic states of Liz leading to dissociation fragments up to Lif(ls)'+ Li*(l#(3d) have been calculated with a frozen core method for nuclear separations between 2 and 20 bohr. Six curves are found to be binding, the first four 'Ez and two *IT,, states: four further states show a tiny energy minimum at large distances. The resuits are discussed with regard to a comparison with Hz, binding properties and the Rydberg character of the excited orbit&.

Potential curves for the eight lowest-lying electronic states of Li~ and the two lowest-lying states of Li~ are obtained by valence configuration calculations which utilize an effective core potential. We report the first experimental optical spectra of L&H. Vibrational structure of the L&H B state has been obtained by twophoton ionization spectroscopy, as well as high-resolution rotational spectra. Simulations of the rotational structure in the first vibrational band allowed us to determine the g
