β¦ Synopsis
Nanosecond fluorescence spectroscopy has been used to study the interaction of 2-anilinonaphthafene with polar solvent molecules which is shown to rcsuit in stoichiometric complex formation at low polar solvent concentrations. This is followed by reorientation of the solvent cage when the concentration of polar solvent is high.

Fluorescence lifetime measurements of purified 7-azaindole in methanol and butanol as a function of temperature are performed. The results indicate that in alcohols there exists a population of 'I-azaindole that is solvated in such a way that excitedstate tautomerixation is no longer a viable mode o
Usin excited state absorption decay experiments (ESA), time-resolved fluorescence and stimulated emission measurements, we have further investigated the photophysics of the barrierless isomerization of the molecule l,l'diethyl-4,4'-cyanine. The observed fluorescence lifetimes are strongly wavelength
