✦ Synopsis

Excess molar volumes of 2, 5, 8, 11-tetraoxadodecane q propyl formate or methyl propanoate Ž . at the temperatures 278.15, 288.15, 298.15, and 308.15 K and atmospheric pressure were obtained from density measurements with a vibrating-tube densimeter. Excess molar isobaric Ž . heat capacities of 2, 5, 8, 11-tetraoxadodecane q propyl formate at the temperatures Ž . 288.15, 298.15, and 308.15 K and atmospheric pressure were determined with a differential scanning calorimeter. The results are compared with literature values of binary mixtures containing C H O ester isomers. ᮊ 1997 Academic Press Limited 4 8 2

Densities of aqueous solutions of the following polyethylene glycols (PEGs) of average molar mass (300, 400, and 600) g•mol -1 have been measured over the entire mass fraction range at T = 298.15 K, using a vibrating-tube densimeter. Excess molar heat capacities and excess molar volumes determined at the temperature 298.15 K are reported for binary mixtures of (propan-2-ol, or butan-2-ol, or pentan-2-ol, or pentan-3-ol, or 2-methylbutan-2-ol + n-heptane). Excess molar heat capacities show a curve with an inflection point at x (a
