β¦ Synopsis
The excess molar enthalpies H E m have been measured for mixtures of pyrrolidin-2-one with methanol, or ethanol, or propan-1-ol, or butan-1-ol, or pentan-1-ol over the whole composition range at T = 303.15 K. The H E m values are positive for all the mixtures over the whole mole fraction range except for methanol which exhibits a sigmoid curve with a maximum at low mole fraction of pyrrolidin-2-one. The values of H E m increase in the order methanol Q ethanol Q propanol Q butanol Q pentanol. The excess partial molar enthalpies of the components have also been evaluated. The results are interpreted in terms of specific interactions.

Excess molar heat capacities and excess molar volumes determined at the temperature 298.15 K are reported for binary mixtures of (propan-2-ol, or butan-2-ol, or pentan-2-ol, or pentan-3-ol, or 2-methylbutan-2-ol + n-heptane). Excess molar heat capacities show a curve with an inflection point at x (a
Total vapour-pressure measurements made by a modified static method for (heptane + propan-2-ol or 2-methylpropan-1-ol or 2-methylpropan-2-ol or butan-1-ol or pentan-1-ol) at the temperature \(313.15 \mathrm{~K}\) are presented. The results have been fitted to various equations.
The excess molar enthalpies of {propan-1-ol or propan-2-ol + acetonitrile + 1,1dimethylethyl methyl ether (MTBE)} have been measured at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure using a flow microcalorimeter. The experimental results are correlated with polynomial equations and used to test the workabil
