Synopsis
Gamma transitions of 63 + lkeV(15 Β± 2%),89 Β± 1 keV(30 i 4% ) and 150 + 2 keV (14 + 2%) (intensities relative to total positon activity) were found in the decay of 49Cr by means of a single channel NaI-scintillation spectrometer.
From 7--7 coincidence experiments the 150 keV line is established to be the crossover transition. Conversion electrons from the three transitions were found in a magnetic lens type fl-ray spectrometer. Conversion coefficients were measured from which the assignment M1 (63 keV), MI (89 keV) and E2 (150 keV) were derived. A level scheme of 49V is proposed, involving the states 7/2-, 5/2-and 3/2-from the proton configuration (1 f7/2) 3, while 5/2-is derived for the ground state of 49Cr. 49
